2.2. Using the Product
CAUTION: Do not use this appliance for cooking or defrosting frozen
food. All food must be completely defrosted before cooking with this
appliance.
NOTE: At rst use this appliance may produce some smoke. This is
normal and will disappear with later use.
1. Before using this appliance for the rst time, wipe it thoroughly with
a dry cotton cloth: wipe the heating plates, drip trays and cleaning
spatula by hand or in the dishwasher.
2. Dry the heating plates thoroughly before putting them back on the
appliance.
3. Make sure to replace the drip tray.
4. Open the unit by pulling the handle upwards.
5. You can grease the plates with butter, margarine or cooking fat.
Since the appliance has a non-stick surface, the use of butter or oil is
optional.
6. Close the plates and start the unit by connecting it to a standard
electrical outlet. Make sure the power indicator shows red.
WARNING: The appliance’s heating plates and metal surfaces
become extremely hot during use. To avoid the risk of burns, wear
heat-resistant gloves and touch only the black part of the handle.
7. After the unit has been preheated for approximately 6 to 8 minutes,
the power indicator will turn o, indicating the unit is ready for use.
8. Use the handle to lift the top plate. Using heat-resistant plastic or
wood utensils, place food on the lower plate.
CAUTION: Do not use metal utensils on this appliance, as these may
scratch and damage the non-stick coating.
